 Sobetsu Park is one of the best viewpoints around Lake Toya. You can see
Lake Toya, Mt. Usu and Mt. Showashinzan, and in the distance Mt. Yotei,
the Niseko Mountains, the Main Summit Hall and the Windsor Hotel are visible.
Also, Sobetsu Park, with an area of about 86,000 square meters, is well-known
for its plums. On the slope next to the lake shore, there are about 20,000
square meters of plum trees. The best time to see them is in mid-to late-May,
when they display a light pink hue. |
