 Sobetsu Park is one of the best viewpoints around Lake Toya. You can see
Lake Toya, Mt.Usu and Mt.Showashinzan, and in the distance Mt.Yotei,
the Niseko Mountains, and the Windsor Hotel(the Main Summit Hall) are visible.
Also, Sobetsu Park, with an area of about 86,000 square meters, is well-known
for its ume-Japanese apricot. On the slope next to the lake shore, there are about 20,000
square meters of ume trees. The best time to see them is in the first to the middle of May,
when they display a light pink hue. |
